Today’s educators and students carry so much on their shoulders. Meeting academic and social expectations – and simply growing up and developing a sense of self and belonging – can be tough. Yet the pressures in today’s educational environment reach far beyond these basics. Our world is moving and changing faster than ever.

Educators are tasked with teaching the next generation of leaders; yet their working conditions lack the support needed to ensure their success. Unsustainable conditions can manifest through decreased productivity and creativity, and escalate to more serious symptoms like anxiety, dissociation, frustration, and, eventually, burnout. Public school educators are quitting their jobs at the highest rate on record. 

I believe in top-down modeling.  If our teachers are highly anxious, it will be more challenging to stay nonreactive when dealing with students and fellow teachers.  Frustration levels will be high, creating an unsafe environment for students.  What if your staff could learn practices that can be resourced during the school day and daily life, with trauma-sensitive approaches for navigating emotions, working with thoughts and emotions, and cultivating compassion and joy for themselves and others? During times of transition, personal loss, intense emotional or physical pain, or any of the numerous circumstances that send our life out of balance, it can be helpful to have support on the journey towards greater calm and a deeper sense of well-being.

During our individual mentoring sessions, we will meet virtually or in-person using the tools of MBSR as the foundation for guidance. Working with a mentor can be life-changing due to the individualized focus.

These sessions are for those that want a more focused approach to bringing harmony to their lives, no matter what you are going through. I will support you and guide you to live the life you imagine for yourself. During your session we will discuss your life, thoughts, feelings, and your desires for the future. These discussions assist in identifying your goals, obstacles you are facing, and areas for improvement in your life. It is also an opportunity to learn more about yourself and find deeper purpose.

We will incorporate lifestyle integration of mindfulness to create behavioral changes for you. You will receive individualized support beyond a class environment and the meditations that you will be given to practice will be tailored to your specific needs.

My goal is to work with you until you can develop the emotion and beliefs you need in order to appreciate yourself, the people around you, and to work towards living the life that you want to live, by using mindfulness and other transformational techniques.
